An agent of the Padua local police died this morning from serious injuries sustained last Saturday in a car accident, which occurred while he was escorting the "Obiettivo 3" handbike team, the project created by Alex Zanardi to involve disabled athletes.

The policeman, Massimo Boscolo, a native of Chioggia (Venice), was on the bike when he collided with an Opel Meriva, in the southern outskirts of the Venetian city.

The 34-year-old was immediately transported to the hospital in the Euganean capital, but his condition immediately appeared very serious.

To give the official news of his death today was the city councilor to the municipal police, Diego Bonavina. This is the first motorcyclist of the traffic police who died in an accident in the history of the body of Padua.

“On behalf of the city of Chioggia, I express my heartfelt condolences to the family and closeness to the local police force of Padua and Chioggia. Massimo had also worked as a seasonal worker at our command. A trained young agent, a security professional who leaves an immense void ”, said the mayor Mauro Armelao in his message of condolence.
