Gigi Proietti's gravestone at the Verano Monumental Cemetery in Rome was removed by the funeral home to include the name of the actor's partner, Sagitta Alter, who passed away on April 21.

The Proietti family clarified this, explaining that it was not a theft, but a normal procedure given that Alter, the showman's great love, is buried in the same place.

It was Ama, the municipal company that manages the greenery and cemetery services of the capital, that reported the incident to the competent authorities in a note, liaising with the police and providing the images recorded by the video surveillance system.

But the alarm lasted only a few hours: the tombstone of the extraordinary actor, who died on November 2, 2020, his eightieth birthday, will soon be returned to its place.
