A sushi dinner, then illness and death. Giuliana Faraci, a 40-year-old originally from Alcara Li Fusi, felt ill last Friday after having dinner in a restaurant in Capo d'Orlando (Messina).

She had fever, vomiting and diarrhea, symptoms that were not found in the other people who had eaten with her. After being admitted to Sant'Agata hospital, the woman died.

The Patti Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the case and seized the body: the autopsy will be carried out in the next few hours.

Among the hypotheses being examined by investigators is that the 40-year-old was struck by a disorder caused by anisakis.
