Tragedy in Favara , in the province of Agrigento , where a 12-year-old boy died while playing basketball in the gymnasium of the "Guarino" school in via Capitano Basile.
The little one complained of a headache , then was seized with a sudden illness and slumped to the ground , losing consciousness. Despite the intervention of two 118 ambulances and the doctors who tried to revive him, there was nothing they could do for him .
The body was taken to hospital at San Giovanni di Dio in Agrigento. The mayor, Antonio Palumbo, has already proclaimed the city mourning for the day of the funeral.
An investigation has been opened on the case: the acting chief prosecutor, Salvatore Vella, and the prosecutor Giulia Sbocchia will acquire, through the carabinieri, the certificates of suitability for the child's competitive activity, which will be related to what will emerge from the autopsy examination .
