The Milan Surveillance Court has filed the order formally authorizing the placement of Alberto Stasi on probation with social services, which was expected after approval from the Attorney General's Office. This will allow him to be released from prison after approximately 10 and a half years.

Stasi, convicted of the murder of Chiara Poggi, entered Bollate in December 2015 and had been on day release for just over a year, meaning he was required to return to the prison in the evenings. Sentenced to 16 years for Chiara Poggi's murder, he will be able to serve the remaining two years of his sentence as an alternative to prison.
