The preliminary hearing judge of Rome has sentenced Lucrezia Hailé Selassiè, a self-styled Ethiopian princess, to 1 year and 8 months (suspended sentence) on charges of stalking Manuel Bortuzzo, the Paralympic swimming champion.

The woman is accused of stalking Bortuzzo for months, even threatening to kill him if he didn't get back with her. The prosecutor had requested a sentence of 1 year and 4 months in a trial conducted with the abbreviated procedure.

The two had met during the reality show Grande Fratello vip, in the 2021-2022 edition . A relationship that began and ended during the program. However, the woman did not accept the end of that flirt and allegedly began to harass Bortuzzo with increasingly aggressive behavior, so much so that the swimmer decided to report her and the 27-year-old was subjected to a ban on approaching and forced to wear an electronic bracelet for stalking.

In the indictment, the prosecutors of Piazzale Clodio write that the girl caused her ex "a state of anxiety and fear and a well-founded fear for his safety , forcing him to change his lifestyle habits, to the point of blocking her and not feeling free to move around peacefully and start a new relationship".
