Nineteen years and 4 months in prison: this is the sentence inflicted on Andrea Tombolini, the 46-year-old accused of murder, double attempted murder and injuries for having stabbed six people in a shopping center in Assago, on the outskirts of Milan.
The attack dates back to 27 October 2022. Of the people affected - including the Monza footballer Pablo Marì , forced to stop for many months - one lost his life ( Luis Fernando Ruggieri, 47 years old ) and two were seriously injured.
The sentence was issued by the Milan magistrate Silvia Perrucci in the abbreviated trial.
“Those people were happy and I hit them out of envy,” the defendant explained immediately after the arrest.
Before the sentence, however, he declared: "I apologize, I don't know what came over me and I don't know what happened."
