This is the statement released by one of the sons of Pierina Buffon, 69, who died yesterday morning in Cassano Magnago (Varese), in a head-on collision between the car she was driving and the vehicle of her ex-partner, Fulvio Ielmini, 73.
The relationship between the two, which lasted several years, ended last June. The man is under investigation for vehicular homicide and is being held at the Varese hospital while the prosecutor completes the criminal investigation.
The woman's family filed a complaint, asking the local police, coordinated by Busto Arsizio prosecutor Massimo De Filippo, to investigate whether the impact was accidental.
