Illness and daring rescue this afternoon for a 51-year-old woman from Cagliari who was in a refuge on the Asiago plateau, in the province of Vicenza.

The Asiago Alpine Rescue was activated by the 118 emergency call center for a woman who, after lunch, had felt unwell at the Alpino bar refuge in Caltrano, which was not accessible to cars due to the snow.

After speaking to the manager to check the road conditions, two teams set off with jeeps and two snowmobiles in tow.

After leaving the rubber-tyred vehicles, the rescuers continued on snowmobiles.

Once they reached the shelter, they loaded the fifty-one-year-old onto a stretcher to transport her to the ambulance that then took her to the hospital in Asiago.
