The firefighters intervened during the night in Montemurlo (Prato) to put out a fire that involved several industrial buildings.

The fire developed in a production area near via Venezia.

According to initial information, the alarm was raised by a passer-by, who would have noticed the flames coming from buildings for productive use.

The fire hit some warehouses with textiles inside. The roof of one of the warehouses collapsed.

At the moment there is no news of injured or burned people, nor are they intoxicated.

Nine squads of brigades were involved in the operations, with reinforcements sent by the commands of Florence and Pistoia: among the objectives of the operators also that of defending some houses that are nearby, preventing the flames from spreading up to to there.

Also on site are the carabinieri, the municipal police, the mayor of Montemurlo Simone Calamai and the deputy mayor Giuseppe Forastiero.
