For seven hours the carabinieri, with a vast deployment of forces that also saw the men from Ros and Gis involved, searched the former Astor hotel, the occupied building cleared out yesterday where little Kata lived with her family , the Peruvian from 5 years disappeared in Florence from 10 June.

No trace of the child. The military discovered a cavity with access to the garden , while in a dumpster they found a cell phone on which further investigations will be carried out. Also discovered another ravine on the upper floor, near one of the terraces.

The inspection will resume tomorrow, meanwhile the former hotel which is now under seizure will continue to be guarded by the police.

Other useful details could come from the camera of a private citizen, identified today by the carabinieri, which covers the entrance to an area adjacent to the Astor courtyard .

According to the investigators, if someone had moved away from that area, climbing over the wall of the courtyard of the building, the camera could have filmed it. The military searched for every element attributable to the little Kata, but no traces emerged. Prosecutor Christine von Borries also participated in the inspection herself.

The searches involved, in particular, the upper part of the large building, where the false ceilings were removed. Fiber optic probes, cameras and drones were used to inspect the upper floor and one of the terraces to which there is no access by ladder. The inspections then concentrated on manholes, ravines, tunnels, pipes, manholes, and an attic, also not normally accessible. The building's foundation compartment was also checked. Here the investigators would have used a cutter to enter the foundations of the building.

In short, nothing has been left to chance, also because the former hotel has undergone many changes over time and has crevices that are difficult to reach .

The people who lived there, at least those surveyed in yesterday's eviction, are 132, including 42 minors .

Meanwhile, the lawyers Sharon Matteoni and Filippo Zanasi, lawyers assisting Kata's parents, announce that they have engaged the retired general of the carabinieri Luciano Garofano, former commander of the Parma RIS, as a consultant .

Katherine Alvarez Vasquez and Miguel Angel Romero Chicclo, father and mother of the little girl, renew their appeal: " Those who know something speak up. Even the smallest clue could be useful to the investigation and nothing will be overlooked. The top priority right now is to get Kata home ."

A new garrison of the Peruvian community was organized in front of the building: a small group with white heart-shaped balloons and signs asking for the finding of the little girl, chanted prayers and pleaded for the little girl to go home.
