The Court of Assizes of the Latina tribunal sentenced Antonello Lovato to 16 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter with eventual intent—with mitigating circumstances— for the death of Satnam Singh, which occurred in the summer of 2024 following a work-related accident in the Pontine countryside.

Lovato, the Indian laborer's employer, drove Satnam Singh, who was seriously injured in one limb, to his house in a van, with his severed arm resting in a fruit crate. He left him there instead of alerting emergency services.

The man died in the following days: hospital treatment proved futile. The prosecutor had requested a 22-year prison sentence.
