The police are on the trail of a woman of Sardinian origin who disappeared after taking her newborn son from the hospital in Pisa.

The baby was born a week ago and the woman, together with her partner, took him away from the nursery before formalizing the discharge procedure and waiting for a meeting with social workers . The couple, in fact, has been followed by social services for some time and acted in fear of losing custody of the child.

Yesterday evening the child's father was found, but not the mother and the child. Furthermore, the man allegedly refused to collaborate with the investigators. The juvenile prosecutor's office is constantly informed of the matter, while the police are combing the area in an attempt to trace mother and son.

Polaria and Polmare have also been alerted, as it is thought that the woman may decide to reach her hometown in Sardinia by plane or ferry .
