«After brutally killing her and getting rid of the body» of Ilaria Sula, Mark Antony Samson went to «eat a piadina» with a friend of Ilaria with whom «he talked about the problems he had with the girl».

This is stated in the precautionary order issued by the investigating judge of Rome. With Ilaria's friend he talks about "superficial and banal issues (such as the friend's boyfriend's birthday or the croissants bought for a phantom girl). He has no qualms about sending the girl's father, even though he knows he killed her, fictitious messages from his daughter ", adds the investigating judge. " He does the same thing with her friends, pretending to be Ilaria , deceiving them that his friend was still alive. It is striking that he does all this right from the start".

In short, after the murder the young man showed an attitude of "strong self-control and lucidity", and "although he had said several times that he could not live without Ilaria and could not imagine a life without her, after having brutally killed her and got rid of the body, he managed to return to normality immediately".

"I was ready to fight to have Ilaria back as my girlfriend," Samson said during questioning by the investigating judge, who reconstructs the relationship between the two in the order. "They met in 2023 at work and then got engaged on April 30 of the same year. He said he had a normal relationship with the girl, with ups and downs like in any relationship." The picture between the two, according to the suspect, changed "when Ilaria asked him, about three months ago, to see his university exam grades. He said that this had always been a big problem, almost a trauma , ever since he was in elementary school. He had always had performance anxiety, especially towards his parents. Samson said that Ilaria had given him an ultimatum in the sense that if he didn't show them to her she would leave him, also because in his place she would have had no problem showing them to him. At the end of January 2025 they decided to take a break to reflect, which in reality never happened, given that they continued to see each other".

The boy reported that «however, Ilaria's attitude was inconsistent, sometimes she treated him like a boyfriend, other times like a simple friend». In short, Samson «could not accept the end of the relationship with Ilaria, even though all the friends he had turned to had advised him to let go of the situation» .
