The father of the girl who died yesterday in Rome at Cecchignola is under investigation for abandonment of a minor. There are few doubts by now: he was struck by the "FSB" syndrome ("Forgotten baby syndrome"), he was convinced that he had taken his 11-month-old daughter to nursery school, instead he left her in the car for 7 hours. Under the sun, with the windows closed, stuck in the car seat, the little girl had no escape.

A tragedy that only emerged at 2.30 pm when a passerby called 112. The carabinieri, colleagues of the father, immediately arrived on the scene, a soldier broke the window to try to save the child by reviving her. But it was all in vain.

In those moments the mother also arrived, alarmed by the teachers who had told her that their daughter hadn't seen her, she hadn't arrived at the nursery. One look at the companion's car parked there in front and he understood everything.

For hours the parents remained in the barracks. The father destroyed by pain, the mother who fell ill, and both assisted by a psychologist to try to deal with the drama.

There are some aspects to be clarified, such as the one concerning the activation of the anti-abandonment alarm device in the car, mandatory since February 2020.
