A car fleeing a checkpoint crashes into another vehicle during a chase: two people die. This is the result of the crash that occurred this evening in Rome on Via Collatina, in the Quarticciolo neighborhood.
According to an initial rough reconstruction, the vehicle, carrying three men, accelerated upon seeing a police car. The officers, supported by a Carabinieri patrol, gave chase, keeping a safe distance.
But the car, having reached Quarticciolo, entered a stretch of road on Via Collatina in the wrong direction and crashed into another oncoming car: the two victims were in the latter, and a third person was injured.
One of the fugitives was immediately apprehended, and the other two were taken to the hospital. Jammers and screwdrivers, tools believed to be suitable for burglary, were found inside the vehicle.
