Three buildings collapsed following an explosion in the Ponte Galeria area of Rome. It occurred on Via Tavagnasco.

According to initial reports , the explosion appears to have affected three villas and was triggered by a gas cylinder.

At the moment there are two serious injuries and around seventy people on the streets.

A large police presence was on the scene. The operations room at the Rome Fire Department headquarters reported that several teams from the EUR, Ostia, and Pisana districts, the GOS unit, the Canine Unit, and the CRRC (Central Reconnaissance Committee) were on scene.

The explosion destroyed all the walls of the three structures involved and the debris also damaged some cars parked on the street.
