Another carriage horse has fallen to the ground in the centre of Rome.
In 2026, it is simply unacceptable to continue to see these animals forced, in stifling heat, to pull carriages full of tourists through the streets of the capital."
The complaint, accompanied by images of the suffering animal, was published by the Lega del Cane – Ostia and relaunched by real profiles, including that of journalist Francesca Fagnani who, speaking of "incivility," calls Mayor Roberto Gualtieri into question.
«At the moment we don't know the horse's condition, but one thing is certain: this scene should no longer exist.
"It's shameful that all this is still happening in Rome, the capital of Italy," say the animal rights activists, adding: "This isn't tradition. This is nothing but suffering and exploitation. The time has come to put an end to these little barrels, once and for all."
