He violently beat his mother and then called 911 to alert the police of what he had done . Thus, a 16-year-old boy, just turned 16, confessed to attacking his 50-year-old mother .

The incident occurred in the building where the victim lived with her son, in Centocelle, on the eastern outskirts of the capital. Il Messaggero broke the story.

The boy is now hospitalized in the psychiatric ward at the Policlinico Umberto I , he had already had problems in the past.

The woman was taken in critical condition to the Tor Vergata Polyclinic, where she died a few hours later.
