A major theft occurred in northern Rome last night around 9:00 PM in the Via Cortina d'Ampezzo area. Thieves entered the home of lawyer Filippo de Jorio, a former Christian Democrat, and stole jewelry worth €400,000 hidden inside. Police are investigating the incident. The ninety-two-year-old lawyer was not home at the time of the theft.
