Assistant Police Chief Carmelo Cinturrino remains in prison, accused of the voluntary homicide of drug dealer Abderrahim Mansouri , which occurred on January 26 in a small park in Rogoredo . Judge Domenico Santoro ordered the precautionary measure of detention due to serious evidence of guilt and to ensure that Cinturrino cannot tamper with evidence .

Yesterday, Cinturrino admitted his guilt before the investigating judge : "I made a mistake, and I apologize to everyone in uniform. Mansouri was dying, and I lost my mind." However, he denied taking protection money from the drug dealers, a version confirmed by his partner but denied by a colleague.

"During yesterday's interrogation, Cinturrino showed no spirit of cooperation ," Santoro writes, "admitting to details already confirmed by the investigation, such as having altered the crime scene by planting the fake gun. Furthermore, he made unreliable statements regarding the circumstances of the killing, confirming that he fired only with the intent to scare the victim. Furthermore, he denied using intimidating methods during the operations, which, however, are confirmed by the testimonies of his colleagues."
