On the day the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Asti issued the execution order for the imprisonment of Mario Roggero , the jeweler from Grinzane Cavour definitively sentenced to 14 years in prison for killing two robbers, the official submission of the request for clemency arrives.
It was signed by Roggero's wife, Mariangela Sandrone , as confirmed to ANSA by Sergio Novani, a procedural analyst who coordinates the defense team together with the lawyer Stefano Marcolini.
"The pardon request," Novani explained, "was sent around 9:30 a.m., via certified email. At the same time as the pardon request, a motion for a deferral of the sentence was filed through attorney Marcolini. We are waiting for the Turin Surveillance Office, which was approached together with the Surveillance Court, to issue a ruling before the prison sentence, and we are confident that the measure will be issued before the prison sentence."
