Roggero in prison in Bollate: "I expect a pardon, Mattarella granted it to Minetti and a trafficker"

Mario Roggero entered the Bollate prison, in the Milan area, to begin serving his final sentence of 14 years and 9 months for the murder of two robbers and wounding a third , following the robbery of his jewelry store in Grinzane Cavour, in the Cuneo area, on April 28, 2021. He arrived at the penitentiary this afternoon, around 4:49 pm.
The jeweler showed up accompanied by his wife and daughter Laura, who had been inside the jewelry store during the attack that day. Shortly before entering, Roggero reiterated his hope. "I would expect a pardon. This morning my wife filed her request, also asking for a temporary suspension of her sentence." The jeweler also announced his intention to continue the legal battle: " We'll go before the European Court of Human Rights, and then we'll see ."
Roggero then mentioned the decisions of President Sergio Mattarella: " He pardoned a trafficker who killed 30 people, he pardoned Minetti , I think he should put his hand on his conscience." Regarding the day of the shooting, he explained that he acted out of fear: "I reacted because I was afraid at the time." When asked if he regretted his actions, he replied: "Certainly, let's say I did, and with hindsight. But you have to be in that moment." And regarding the possibility of doing it again, he added: "When someone has a gun pointed at your face, they shoot you first."
