A man has been arrested as a suspect in an investigation into a sexual assault suffered by a 74-year-old woman in Pistoia. The man was reportedly tracked down in Florence.

The attack dates back to last Wednesday: according to what the Police have reconstructed so far, a young foreigner would have shown up at the old woman's house initially asking for money. Then, however, he would have raped her.

Then he escaped, perhaps also because of the woman's screams, across the roofs, taking the victim's cell phone with him.

It was the elderly woman herself who then raised the alarm with the police, who began investigations and checks that then led to the identification of the alleged perpetrator.
