In an email to Paolo Corsini, Rai's In-Depth News Director, Giulia Presutti —who was nominated to host Report with Daniele Piervincenzi in the post-Ranucci era—announces she is stepping back from her role. "I hope," she writes, "that in this way I can help the program that shaped me and to which I had the honor of contributing. Such a beloved program, which has given so much to the public and to our company, cannot get bogged down in such petty discussions and exchanges, nor do I believe its future can be tied to individual names and personalities."

"Dear Director," Presutti wrote in his email to Corsini, "in such a complex and delicate context as the one that has arisen, I am happy to step back, hoping in this way to help the program that shaped me and to which I had the honor of contributing."

"As far as I'm concerned, dear director," Presutti concludes, " I'm at the disposal of the company that has given me so much and to which I intend to passionately dedicate all my efforts."

In the afternoon, a meeting was held with Report correspondents, who announced their intention to resign en masse: at the end, they explained that "a channel of communication with the company has been opened."
