Tragedy in Lombardy where an 88-year-old and a 61-year-old of Sardinian origin – father and son – died on the same day, Friday 3 January.
They are Renato and Francesco Porcu : the first – who had been suffering from cancer for some time – died in Lecco , the second died in Varenna of a heart attack.
News that has thrown relatives and friends into deep mourning. "Dad had a tumor that consumed him in a few months," Porcu's other son, Enrico , told the local press. "He spent the whole morning of January 3rd looking for my brother on the phone . But without finding him. Francesco was found lifeless in his bed, probably struck by an illness."
"Unfortunately my brother Francesco died and my father on the same day. Strange case of life. Goodbye Franco, goodbye dad Renato" , wrote Enrico himself on Facebook.
Both Renato Porcu – who emigrated from Isola to Lombardy many years ago for work – and his son Francesco had a great passion for music , even though they did other things for a living (the father worked in an electronics company, the son in a bank): Renato was an accordionist, while Francesco played drums for years in a rock band, Axton . And the band dedicated a touching post to him on social media: «Unfortunately Francesco, who was the band's drummer in 1986-1987, left us prematurely... His cellar in the center of Lecco became our headquarters and the band's rehearsal room for a couple of years ... Glorious and unforgettable times.
