He wanted a free pizza , but when the owner refused, he flew into a rage, pulled out a knife, and killed him. Tragedy unfolded late yesterday evening at the Yoghi pizzeria on Via Gran Sasso d'Italia, in the southern part of Reggio Emilia, not far from the Santa Maria Nuova hospital. The attack occurred shortly after 10:30 PM. The alleged perpetrator fled and is being actively sought by police.

The victim is Raffaele Stipa, a sixty-year-old originally from Capo d'Orlando, in the province of Messina, but a longtime resident of Reggio Emilia, where he had run the pizzeria for about twenty years. While attempting to stop the attacker, the victim's sister, Antonella Stipa, was also seriously injured and was admitted to Santa Maria Nuova Hospital.

According to investigators' initial reconstruction, the alleged murderer is a regular customer of the restaurant . The man, a foreigner whose nationality has not yet been disclosed, allegedly asked for a free pizza. When the owner refused, who reportedly replied, "I've already offered you three, that's enough," he allegedly pulled out a knife, stabbing the pizza chef and also injuring his sister before fleeing.
