The journalist, through his lawyers, has formally contested RAI's decision to reassign the editorship of Report and is seeking reinstatement "as well as compensation for all resulting damages." In the complaint, addressed to Paolo Corsini and Felice Ventura, Ranucci's lawyers demand to be informed of the facts and circumstances and to have, within seven days, the relevant documentation that can substantiate the allegations against the journalist, referring to an "objective situation of incompatibility" that allegedly arose as a result of the "continuous pressure" to which the editorial staff of Report is subjected, and the diminished credibility and authority resulting from "perceptions of opacity, collusion, and interference," as stated in the decision by which RAI removed Ranucci. Also considered particularly serious is "the fact that the victim of a serious attack is held by his employer responsible for an alleged situation of incompatibility."
