"Urban Insecurity - The Role of Institutions and Entrepreneurs": this was the title of the training seminar organized by the Piedmont and Aosta Valley regional secretariat of the FSP State Police in Turin. The initiative was the center of political and union controversy due to the presence, among the speakers, of Futuro Nazionale leader Roberto Vannacci.

The program includes opening remarks by Turin Police Chief Massimo Gambino and a roundtable discussion featuring Vannacci, Libero co-director Pietro Senaldi, clinical criminologist Emilio Chiodo, entrepreneur Francesco Toselli, National Secretary General of the FSP State Police Valter Mazzetti, and Turin Secretary General Luca Pantanella. The moderator will be Fabrizio Lotti, Deputy National Secretary General of the FSP.

"Vannacci lecturing the police is a serious institutional short-circuit and a dangerous precedent," say the Turin Metropolitan Democratic Party and the City of Turin Democratic Party group. "We find it gravely inappropriate that a political initiative with Roberto Vannacci, a party leader and member of the European Parliament, and other speakers clearly aligned with the party," say Metropolitan Secretary Marcello Mazzù and City Council group leader Claudio Cerrato, "is recognized as a professional development activity for State Police officers. Even more questionable is the institutional involvement of the Turin Police Headquarters."

While initially it was considered a recognized professional development activity, after the controversy, the Department of Public Safety clarified that it was "a union initiative, for which the Turin Police Chief is not expected to participate, nor will the conference constitute professional development for members of the State Police."
