Matilde Celentano, born in Carbonia and currently the mayor of Latina, is continually insulted for her appearance: «Enough now, I'm reporting it»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
"Since the insults on social media about my physical appearance continue, I reserve the right to take legal action." This is what the mayor of Latina Matilde Celentano, born in Carbonia and resident in Lazio for many years, wrote in a note.
Celentano is 65 years old, she is a doctor and was elected with Fratelli d'Italia. On her profiles she has been repeatedly targeted with criticism and the object of body shaming, with ironic references to aesthetic touch-ups and touch-ups. Changes due however to the health problems she suffers from and in particular to the oncological treatments Celentano has undergone.
"It is intolerable - continues the mayor - that she should be judged not for her actions that pertain to the function of mayor, but for the suspicion of resorting to cosmetic surgery. I am aware of being a public figure and I also accept criticism, but this attack on women who resort to aesthetic surgery, behind which there could be psychological and health problems, must end".
The outburst continues: "I have already publicly clarified the reasons why my body has undergone temporary changes, due to the therapies I underwent for the treatment of a tumor, but in any case, even if I had resorted to cosmetic surgery, no one has the right to judge not only me but all the women who have made similar choices. I find it a crude and disrespectful attack on the person."
"Body derision and discrimination against a person based on their physical appearance can be classified as body shaming. A practice that should be strongly condemned. In recent hours, I have found comments written on social media like this: "I met her one evening for dinner and I assure you that now she has had her face done, that's where the money goes. With these politicians it's all a big grab." And again: "No rubber lips." And then other insults received yesterday that are added to those suffered in the past months during the illness. There is enough to induce anyone to react by resorting to legal action," concludes the mayor of Latina.
