Sexual assault on the ferry taking her back to Genoa from Sardinia.
The Secolo XIX newspaper reported: the victim, a 19-year-old woman, said that while she was on board, a man asked her for help because he was having trouble opening the cabin door. She approached to lend a hand, at which point he allegedly pushed her inside and sexually assaulted her. He then left, leaving her lying on the floor.

It was late at night and the ship was entering the Ligurian Sea. The girl asked the ferry crew for help, which enabled the onboard emergency response team to be activated and law enforcement to be alerted. Upon disembarkation, she was immediately taken to the emergency room, where tests confirmed the presence of marks on her legs and back consistent with abuse.

She was then entrusted to a psychologist. However, when the girl was confronted by the police officers called by the hospital management, she refused to file a complaint. Law enforcement nevertheless began an investigation, acquiring surveillance footage from aboard the ferry, which was about to depart.
