The anti-prostitution ordinance of the Northern League mayor of Terni Leonardo Latini becomes a coincidence, which banned women from "indecent or indecent clothing in relation to the place or in showing nudity, giving rise to the conviction of practicing prostitution".
The Umbrian senator of the 5 Star Movement Emma Pavanelli raised the issue together with some associations and the opposition in the city council.
"No, we are not in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime but in Umbria", wrote the parliamentarian in a note, in which she stressed that "the mayor of Terni issues an ordinance that imposes a prohibition on women from clothing" provocatively, under penalty of equality with prostitutes ".
For Pavanelli, the Lega's solutions are "grotesque and offensive for the protection of the Terni territory". "Instead of finding solutions to the problems of the city and reviving the economy - he continued - the mayor wants to eliminate prostitution by banning miniskirts and necklines and limiting the freedom of women. A ridiculous and serious decision that makes us understand at what level the Salvini's party, a medieval level, homocentric and devoid of ideas ".
For his part, Latini, underlining that his ordinance is not the only one in Italy, explained: "If you read the provision carefully and with a secular spirit, you realize that no particular type of clothing is prohibited by anyone. , but that there is only the will to counteract a phenomenon. It is necessary to read well and not to extrapolate single words, because otherwise there is the risk of exploiting everything ".
