A 35-year-old man was arrested in Verona on charges of killing his wife, Jessica Dalla Chiara, 32. The femicide occurred on June 24, 2024.

As reported by the newspaper L'Arena, the suspect, who works as a nurse, allegedly administered insulin to the woman via IV for non-therapeutic purposes, causing her to suffer a hypoglycemic attack, first at home and then in the hospital, where she had been admitted.

The man also allegedly collected compensation for the death of his wife, who had taken out a life insurance policy two years earlier.
