"The clinical conditions of the Holy Father in the last 24 hours have shown a further, slight improvement" , reports the Medical Bulletin released on the evening of Wednesday 26 February on Pope Francis, hospitalized since 14 February at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.

"The mild renal insufficiency noted in recent days has subsided," the Holy See explained, while "the chest CT scan, performed yesterday evening, showed a normal evolution of the pulmonary inflammatory picture."

The note adds: "Today's blood tests and hemacrocytometric tests confirmed yesterday's improvement." Again: "High-flow oxygen therapy continues; today too he has not presented asthmatic respiratory crises." And respiratory physiotherapy also continues. "Despite registering a slight improvement, the prognosis remains reserved," concludes the bulletin, which explains that "during the morning the Holy Father received the Eucharist, while the afternoon was dedicated to work activities."
