The murder hypothesis has not been ruled out for the death of Letizia Girolami, the 72-year-old psychotherapist found lifeless in a field in Foiano della Chiana (Arezzo) with a visible head wound.

The victim lived in a farmhouse between Foiano and the hamlet of Pozzo. According to the reconstruction by the carabinieri, she was found dead last night after her husband had reported her missing . The body was found in a field owned by the family.

The Carabinieri arrived on the scene with the prosecutor Julia Maggiore: they listened to the husband, an artist of Canadian origin who yesterday had contacted his daughter, living abroad, worried about his wife's disappearance. It was then the daughter who called 112Nue and started the search, which then gave the tragic outcome.

The hypotheses are all open, from an accidental fall to murder. This lead is becoming more and more considered as the hours pass since the deep wound to the head seems compatible with a blunt object with which the victim could have been hit . Scientific investigations will have to give more certain indications. The investigations are in full swing.
