"The clinical conditions of the Holy Father are slightly improving. He is afebrile and his hemodynamic parameters continue to be stable. This morning he received the Eucharist and subsequently devoted himself to his work activities." This was communicated by the Vatican Press Office, in the usual evening bulletin on the conditions of Pope Francis, who has now been hospitalized for almost a week at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome due to bilateral pneumonia.
This morning the Press Office itself had communicated that the Pope had spent a peaceful night and had breakfast sitting down.
"The fact that the Pope had breakfast, read the newspapers, and received people means that we are on the right path to a full recovery, which we hope will happen soon," commented the president of the CEI, Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi.
