In the closed-door meeting with the Roman priests this afternoon at the Salesian University, the Pontiff spoke about homosexuality in the Church: «In the Vatican there was an air of fagotism, it is not easy to help this current», he said according to what reported to Ansa by some sources present at the meeting.

Bergoglio reiterated that if a boy is homosexual it is better not to let him enter the Vatican: "They are good boys, but with this tendency it is better not to."

Also in May he addressed the topic in a closed-door meeting, but this time he broadened the issue to the entire Vatican. On several occasions Pope Francis has shown great openness towards homosexual people but at the same time he has always expressed himself quite clearly against the "lobbies", and this would be the meaning of the speech delivered again this afternoon.

The Pope also pointed the finger at those religious people who tend to do business, against the "worldliness" of numerous bishops, which makes them lose the sense of being pastors, making them become state officials or clerics.
