Almost everyone, by now, listens to music in electronic format, on their smartphone or PC, thanks to Spotify and other specialized apps. Only a few still prefer to buy CDs, vinyls and co. Among these few seems to be Pope Francis.
The demonstration? A photo published on his Twitter profile by the Vaticanist Javier Martinez Brocal, who immortalizes the Holy Father leaving a record shop in Rome, the Stereosound, in via Minerva, Pantheon area.
From what we learn, Bergolio, who arrived with his security men aboard a Fiat 500, was a frequent visitor to the shop even before he became pope. He had promised the owners to return for a visit. And the promise has now been kept.
In the shot, in black and white, Francesco comes out of the shop with a 33 rpm vinyl record under his arm. Mystery about his musical preferences, but the owners, obviously excited by the surprise, gave him an album of classical music.
