Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci's ex-wife and a final conviction for instigating the murder of the high fashion entrepreneur, who was murdered in Milan on March 27, 1995, is in intensive care at Rimini's Infermi hospital after falling ill during a vacation in Riccione.
The news was reported by QN and Resto del Carlino of Rimini. The 77-year-old had arrived on the Riviera at the end of July to spend a couple of weeks' vacation in a hotel. Her assistant accompanied her. She reportedly fell ill late Monday morning, while Reggiani was apparently in his room on the terrace.
Among the hypotheses, all of which remain to be verified, is that of prolonged exposure to heat and sun during the midday hours. After receiving initial treatment on site, Reggiani was rushed to Rimini Hospital, where she was admitted to intensive care. The prognosis is guarded. Medical tests will now clarify the causes of her hospitalization.
Originally from Vignola (Modena), after her separation and divorce from Maurizio Gucci, she was arrested in 1997 on charges of instigating her ex-husband's murder. During the investigation, she denied any involvement in the affair. Reggiani was sentenced to 26 years and served approximately 17 years in prison, being released in 2016 thanks to good behavior.
