Nicola Bartolini attacked in Milan, he defended himself from an attempted robbery.

The gymnast from Cagliari, resident in the Lombardy capital and gold medalist in floor exercise at the 2021 World Championships, made this known in a rant on Instagram.

"Milan is a horrifying city," says the athlete. "I was attacked at 8 pm outside my house while I was walking the dog to steal my phone. Unfortunately for him, instead of taking my phone away, he only received a lot of punches in the face."

Bartolini also didn't come out of the fight very well; the published images show a bump on his forehead and a wound on his hand.

"There is no safety in this jungle of a city, all sorts of things happen every day. I don't know how it would have ended if it had happened to a lady or a girl, I consider myself lucky to have only been punched in the forehead but my attacker was certainly unluckier", is the outburst of the world champion.
