A 15-day-old baby was found among drugs and garbage in a Rome apartment. Local police arrested the mother's partner, and the mother was charged.

The investigation was triggered because the baby had been taken away from medical staff by his mother immediately after birth, thus preventing him from receiving the necessary treatment. He was sleeping on a mattress on a dirty floor, completely bare, surrounded by garbage and mold. Approximately 5 kilos of marijuana and hashish were also found in the home. The couple was already involved in criminal proceedings for manslaughter in the death of another child.
