In Italy today the national day of people with Down syndrome is celebrated, «a precious opportunity to promote a change of perspective, committing ourselves to valorizing people's talents and skills, offering opportunities and investing in skills», writes Alessandra on Facebook Locatelli, Minister for Disabilities.

«People with Down syndrome study, work, travel, love, like everyone - he adds - The limits lie in those who cannot see the potential of others. I believe that institutions can and must work harder to improve the rules that guarantee opportunities for a dignified life: for training, work and housing, but also for recreation and sports. And I believe that the private world and individual citizens can also do more to overcome prejudices and guarantee a better future for every person."
