Mourning in Italian tennis. Giorgio Pietrangeli, son of the Italian tennis legend Nicola Pietrangeli, died in Rome at the age of 59. He is currently hospitalized at Gemelli for tests.

The news of Giorgio Pietrangeli's death was given by the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) with a statement in which it recalls that "Giorgio was one of the first Italian surfing champions in the 1980s: he participated with the National team in the 1988 World Championships in Puerto Rico and in the European Championships in Portugal the following year. In 1985 he participated in the European Championships in Forte dei Marmi, in 1989 he won the Italian Championship in Viareggio. Giorgio leaves behind his father Nicola, his wife Carola, his daughter Nicola and his brothers Marco and Filippo".
