The shocking story – reported by the press and by Corriere della Sera – seems to have been inspired by the film “Psycho”, a masterpiece by Alfred Hitchcock , but it really happened in Borgo Virgilio, in the Mantua area , where a 57-year-old man will now have to answer for concealing a corpse and fraud against the INPS.
What unmasked him was his incredible and unlikely disguise , which aroused the suspicions of the municipal employees, who then alerted the local police officers.
Subsequent inspections revealed the woman's mummified body in the home's cellar . The elderly woman is believed to have died in 2022, but her son never reported her death and continued to receive her monthly allowance.
