A new day of questioning begins at Campobasso Police Headquarters as part of the premeditated double homicide investigation into the Pietracatella mystery . Today, investigators are again interviewing relatives and friends of the two victims, Sara Di Vita and Antonella Di Ielsi, a mother and daughter who died in the hours after Christmas. Ricin, which they believed to have been poisoned, was found in their blood.
Yesterday, testimony concluded at 11:00 PM after 13 hours. The head of the Flying Squad, Marco Graziano, and the Larino prosecutor, Elvira Antonelli, interviewed first Gianni Di Vita and his daughter Alice as persons with knowledge of the facts, and finally, between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, one of Di Vita's cousins.
Little is known about the content of the conversations with the families of Sara Di Vita and Antonella Di Ielsi. Investigative sources have only learned that the three may be interviewed again in the coming hours.
It has also been learned that the case remains against unknown persons and therefore, at present, no suspects have been identified. The final report from the National Poison Control Center in Pavia, directed by Carlo Locatelli, is expected within ten days. Last month, Locatelli quickly released the results of tests that revealed traces of ricin in the two victims' blood.
