Nineteen items of food were seized in Pietracatella, which are the focus of investigators investigating the deaths of 15-year-old Sara Di Vita and her mother, Antonella Di Ielsi, 50.
The concoction consisted of a mixture of mushrooms and peppers, green olives, black olives, meatballs, cheese with pistachios, cow's milk mozzarella, tomato sauce, mushrooms presumably "pleurotus ostreatus," clams cooked in their shells, cod au gratin with pine nuts, grapes, and potatoes, a sponge cake with pistachio cream, pesto, cream cheese, two different types of jam, polenta topped with mushrooms presumably button mushrooms, two types of cream cheese, country-style mushrooms, and homemade pickled vegetables. The seized products were located partly in Gianni Di Vita's home and partly in his mother's apartment, on the first floor of the same building.
Food analyses have been delegated to the Zooprophylactic Institute of Abruzzo and Molise.
Meanwhile, the woman's husband and the girl's father has been transferred from the intensive care unit to a regular ward. The Spallanzani Institute announced this, explaining that the decision was made "given the favorable evolution of the patient's clinical condition." Another daughter, who did not attend the dinner, is doing well.
