The parliamentary commission of inquiry into the disaster of the Moby Prince, the ferry that caught fire after the collision with the Agip Abruzzo oil tanker in the harbor of the port of Livorno on 10 April 1991: 140 victims, must be operational as soon as possible .

The appeal is made by the presidents of the associations of the families of the victims of Moby Prince, Luchino Chessa (Association 10 Aprile-Family Victims Moby Prince) and Nicola Rosetti (Association 140) in a letter sent to the president of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana «to urge the start of the parliamentary inquiry" . «We are writing to you again regarding the commission of inquiry into the disaster of the Moby Prince ship, voted unanimously by the Montecitorio Chamber last 17 October - so the two associations in the letter released -. Four months have passed and we have had no further news from the commission ; apparently, the members of all the parliamentary groups have not even been nominated. We appeal to you so that the new commission can be operational as soon as possible."

«We ask - continue Chessa and Rosetti - that the attention towards our associations, demonstrated in recent months by the deputies of all the parliamentary groups and for which we are grateful, translates concretely into the start of the investigative work of the new commission approved at 'unanimity. The work done by the two previous commissions represents a page of good politics" and it is "precisely thanks to Parliament's investigative work that important glimpses of truth have been opened about that massacre, to the point of arriving one step away from the complete reconstruction of what happened ». "We can not wait anymore. We want to arrive at a historical truth - conclude Chessa and Rosetti -: we owe it to the 140 victims ", to their families "and to our Nation, and Parliament can give the answers that are still missing. Above all, we do not want to leave this battle to the new generations, to our children and grandchildren. We want to tell them the truth."
