For a whole night he thought about how to spend and invest that real treasure that would change his life: one of his plays at the Superenalotto had turned out to be a winner, the 136 million euro prize money would soon be his.

An irrepressible joy which, however, had not come to terms with a sad reality: a newspaper error. Yes, because the numbers published by a newspaper were wrong.

It is the story of Francesco Ventresca, an 83-year-old fruit and vegetable peddler with a stand at the market in Sulmona, in the province of L'Aquila. The old man had played for 7.50 euros, in the evening - having to get up early the next day - he had not followed the draw but in the morning he had bought the newspaper and then compared his coupons. At the end of the working day he checked: he had won 136 million and 300 thousand euros. Too bad that, once he went to the bookshop, the cold shower arrived. The published numbers were wrong, as was the prize pool.

He is now considering consulting a lawyer to ask for any damages.
