"The current international scenario, characterized by strong tensions and volatility in energy markets , is creating growing difficulties for all airlines operating in Italy. This situation risks compromising not only the accessibility of our islands but also the sustainability of the summer season, now upon us," said Gaetano Intrieri, CEO of Aeroitalia , regarding the risks to air transport due to the crisis in the Middle East.
In light of the situation, Aeroitalia's CEO, emphasizing "the attention already shown by the Ministry of Transport regarding the alarm linked to the extraordinary increase in aviation fuel costs," has made a request to the government: "We request the urgent activation of a technical discussion table at the Ministry of Infrastructure involving all interested parties: national authorities, representatives of the most affected regions, airlines, airport managers, and energy sector operators."
"Only through concrete and transparent dialogue will it be possible to identify shared and timely solutions to address an emergency that affects territorial cohesion , citizen mobility, and our country's competitiveness.
