Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited the Joint Operations Command , where she took part in a video conference to extend Christmas greetings to the Italian military contingents engaged in international theatres of operations.
"The strength of armies and their credibility are the most effective tools for fighting wars. Dialogue, diplomacy, and good intentions are certainly useful, but they must be based on solid foundations," the Prime Minister said in her speech.
"Si vis pacem para bellum," Meloni added, because "peace is a precious good when you possess it and must be sought with all your might when you lose it. Anyone who knows war and is prepared to face it understands this better than anyone else . This is why I have never accepted the narrative of those who contrast the idea of pacifism with the armed forces."
